Terms and conditions:

*Basic Premise…

Booking a delivery is essentially renting the space inside the courier’s backpack from the pick-up point to the drop-off point. Contents to be delivered will occupy this space until it has reached the drop-off point. Contact with the recipient/s will then be attempted and the item/s will be handed over or left in the most practical place found. It is recommended that the customer be made aware of the delivery time as it is helpful if the customer is there to meet the delivery person and for food to be at the expected temperature on receival.

*Delivery credits...

Delivery credits are used to book deliveries only and NOT for the purchase of food. Delivery credits are non transferrable and non refundable. The purchase of a delivery credit does not guarantee that a delivery can be made during peak delivery times, it is up to the restaurant to choose the available/suitable time from our delivery times available. No more than AUD$50 worth of credits can be purchased or stored on any account at any one time.

*Pick-up…

Pick-up must be conducted by the relevant personnel associated with the account that made the booking. Item/s must be ready for collection by the driver at agreed time of pick-up. Total weight of item/s must not exceed 6kg for safety reasons. Please note these terms are strict and must be followed otherwise delivery will not be made and no refund will be issued.

*Food hygiene…

Restaurants are expected to meet all relevant licensing requirements and all other food laws and regulations – including food safety and hygiene regulations. Restaurants must maintain valid licences and/or permits.

*Packaging…

All pick-ups are to be enclosed in hygenic leak proof packaging. All food will be transported inside a sanitary insulated bag and delivered within the goal of a maximum five minute window. Please ensure lids are correctly fitted, the risk of the bottom falling out of paper bags caused by leaks can be mitigated with care. Any packaging that is dirty in appearance and of a unsatisfactory odour will not be transported. Courier backpacks have the dimensions of 42 x 48 x 30cm but can extend for Pizza boxes. Unless pizza boxes are being delivered, the forementioned dimensions must be adhered to or the delivery may not occur and a refund will not be issued. A maximum of 8 pizza boxes can be carried. No more than 10kgs gross weight is allowed for any single delivery.

*Items delivered…

Any item that is of a food grade description will be delivered. Fragile items, dangerous items (like weapons, explosives, flammables, etc.), stolen goods or anything illicit in nature must not be handed over for delivery otherwise the relevant authorities will be contacted immediately. Packages may be sealed before handed to delivery personnel and it is usually encouraged with brown paper bags. We reserve the right to inspect any closed package during any stage of the delivery.

*Liability…

Although we are experienced couriers and pride ourselves on customer satisfaction Newcastle Couriers will not be liable for any issues relating to items being transported including but not limited to theft, loss of item/s, damages, spills and complaints of unsatisfactory food or food contents.

*Timeslots…

Careful consideration must be taken before booking a pick-up time. All pick up times must be strictly adhered to as we are a delivery business and not a waiting business… if your order is not ready to be handed over at the allocated time of pickup or two minutes past, you may forfeit your delivery and may not be able to re-book if there is not a spare timeslot. We understand that this is something that may be out of the restaurant’s control but other bookings must be adhered to.

*Privacy…

Only your contact phone number/s will be shared with restaurants and drivers, no other information regarding order details will be shared willingly with any other entity. Records of delivery details are not kept for longer than 48 hours. Receipts will be emailed with every order but will only contain details of the time and amount of the purchase. Credit Card details are not stored, recorded, captured or processed by us. All payment processing is done by third party affiliates that are of reputable nature associated with our banking institution.

*Refusal of delivery…

If any of these terms and conditions are not met we reserve the right to refuse service and cancel the delivery. Refunds will not be given to any cancellations.

*Cancellation...

Cancellations will not be refunded as booking spots are limited and as soon as the booking has been made the service has commenced.

*Complaints...

All complaints are to be forwarded by email via the contact section of the website and will be addressed in a timely manner.

*Delivery timeframe...

If unforeseen circumstances or an emergency situation arises and delivery is unable to be made within a twenty four hour period, a full refund shall be given.

*Inactive accounts...

Accounts that have not been logged in to for a period of twelve months will lose any residual delivery credits and the account will be deleted from records.
